MANDALUYONG CITY, (PIA) — The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) again, recently recognized the City Government of Mandaluyong for the local government units’ (LGU) for its Electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS) system.

ARTA Director General Secretary Ernesto Perez personally presented the certificate of commendation to Mayor Ben Abalos and Vice Mayor Menchie Abalos.

This recognition follows the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to digitalize and expedite government processes.

Perez said that Mandaluyong is among the few local government units currently implementing the eBOSS system. The city government is one of the LGUs that simplified business permit application, addressed systemic issues in the local permits and licenses, and introduced reforms and technology-enabled applications and systems that paved the way to a seamless and efficient process.

With the implemented eBOSS system, acquiring a business permit can now be completed within one hour.

The ARTA official added that the eBOSS system is an end-to-end online process, encompassing the application for a business permit, submission of requirements, fee payment, and printing of the business permit.

The best way to fight red tape and corruption is to streamline and digitalize government processes, and we are witnessing that in the City of Mandaluyong under the able leadership of Mayor Abalos,” said Perez.

He also encouraged other local government units to emulate Mandaluyong and implement their own eBOSS systems, as it contributes to an increase in registered businesses and tax collections.

Meanwhile, Mayor Abalos expressed gratitude to ARTA for the recognition. He said that the city government will strive to digitalize other processes further. (Mandaluyong City/PIA-NCR)
