More details ° SEAPAVAA to hold session at the FIAT/IFTA World Congress 2009 in Beijing The International Federation of Television Archives (FIAT/IFTA) will be holding their 2009 World Congress in Beijing on October 22-26 hosted by the China Central Television (CCTV). With the theme "A New World - A New Deal for Archives," the Congress aims to discuss and find means for archives to grasp the opportunity to turn themselves into a sustainable asset for the Media Community amidst economic difficulties today. More details ° IFLA holds August 24 seminar on "AV Collections for Non-Specialist Librarians" IFLA Audiovisual and Multimedia Section, in collaboration with the Coordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Associations (CCAAA), is organizing a one-day training workshop, Milano, Italy, on 24th August 2009, entitled: AV Collections for Non-Specialist Librarians. This workshop is for professional Librarians in organizations where preservation of, and provision of access to, audiovisual materials is not the main preoccupation, but who need to understand and apply basic principles in limited circumstances. Travel grant is also available for qualified applicants from least developed countries, from Africa, or small island states.
