| The South East Asia Pacific Audio Visual Archive Association joins UNESCO and the international archive community in commemorating the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage come October 27.
October 27 was proclaimed by UNESCO as the World DAY for Audiovisual Heritage to impress the value of the AV heritage and the need to preserve and guard these treasures which have been neglected in the past. Various archive associations organized events or programmes to celebrate this day with each of their respective constituencies. The Co-ordinating Council of Audiovisual Archive Associations designed a website where we can upload and see these special events happening from all over the world.
SEAPAVAA enjoins its members and everyone to come share this day with the whole archive community by organizing events within each country/institution that would enable the public to be aware of the importance of these invaluable treasures of our time.
In the case that there have already been programmes or happenings organized, please inform the SEAPAVAA Secretariat at seapavaa@yahoo.com or our designated representative to the CCAAA Task Force on the World Day, our Secretary General, Mr. Jamie Lean at jamie.lean@nzfa.org.nz . These would be uploaded on to our website and linked on to the official website for the World Day.
