4. Description of Event:
With the support of Unesco Phnom Penh, this event aims at increasing awareness among the Cambodian filmmakers and the Cambodian public about the challenges to be met in preserving Cambodian movie heritage.
The Bophana Center will first organize a lunch-meeting to sensitize the Cambodian filmmakers (from the young and the old generation) to the importance of safeguarding their movies and to the role the Bophana Center can play in this process. A public conference will be held at 3pm (inviting the press too), by HE Mr Mao Ayuth, film director, on the subject: “Safeguarding and recreating the Cambodian movie heritage”.
The day will end with screenings of documentary films and movies on giant screen, around the Cambodian cinema.
