Koronadal PDC endorses MRDP-APL 2

Koronadal, South Cotabato (14 March) -- The Provincial Development Council (PDC) recently passed unanimously a resolution endorsing the Mindanao Rural Development Program-Adaptable Program Loan 2 (MRDP-APL 2) of the Department of Agriculture (DA) held at the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) Conference Room, Koronadal City. The PDC which is chaired by Governor Daisy P. Avance Fuentes is the provinces planning body. It is composed of Municipal Mayors, Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, provincial department heads, national government agencies, non-government organizations, people's organizations and the business community. The PPDO acts as the secretariat. Resolution number 2006-1 favorably endorsed the province' intention and desire to participate in the MRDP-APL 2. It was passed in consonance to the province's over-all goals of poverty reduction, agricultural productivity, environmental protection and conservation. The program which is funded by World Bank will also have a counterpart from the province. The said resolution will be forwarded to the DA Regional Field Office 12 and the Regional Development Council 12, the region's highest planning and policy-making body, for information and support. The other agenda taken up during the PDC meeting were the presentations of the following: Fourmula One Development and Investment Plan, Land Care, project in South Cotabato and the South Cotabato Food Security and Investment Plan. |
