CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb. 11 (PIA) -- Ten towns and one city in Northern Mindanao have been initially selected for the establishment of Centers for Development (CFDs).
The Regional Development Council (RDC-10) supported the establishment of CFDs in these localities, particularly in areas that have persistent and pronounced youth-related problems like teen-age pregnancy, increasing school drop-outs, drug and alcohol abuse, and other health and education-related issues.
The selected localities are Gitagum, Initao, Laguindingan and Lugait in Misamis Oriental; Linamon and Tubod in Lanao del Norte; Cabanglasan, Impasug-ong, Lantapan and San Fernando in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro City.
The establishment of CFDs in these areas will be funded jointly by a grant from Global Fund for Women (GFW) and the Countrywide Development Fund of Rep. Yevgeny Vincent B. Emano of the Second District of Misamis Oriental and Rep. Florencio T. Flores Jr., of the Second District of Bukidnon. (MUC/PIA-Caraga)
