CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, March 2 (PIA) -- Members of the Gender Advocates (GA) in Northern Mindanao vow to plant 10 trees every year starting this 2012.
In line with the National Greening Program of President Benigno S. Aquino’s administration, GA-10 (formerly known as Gender Advocates-Women in Government Service or GA-WINGS) sounded this commitment during its kick-off activity today for the 2012 Women’s Month celebration with the theme “Women weathering climate change: governance and accountability, everyone’s responsibility.”
For this year, GA-10 is set to hold “Tree Growing” on June 8 and a follow-up on November 9. This is in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Department of Agrarian Reform in the region. (EOR-PIA 10)
