“Tax Tulungan Centers” set up in malls

ZAMBOANGA CITY, April 4 (PIA) –- To help out tax payers in filing their Income Tax Returns (ITR) with ease, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has opened “Tax Tulungan Center” (TTC) in local malls here.

Revenue District Officer Merlyn DV Vicente confirmed the bureau has set up two separate TTC at Mindpro City Mall in downtown area and Yubengco Star Mall in Barangay Putik.

The TCC was also set up to help tax payers beat the deadline for filing ITRs set on April 15 and so as to spare tax payers the hassle of cramming their way to the BIR office.

Vicente said the TCC was set up since March 26 yet and will be open for public service until April 15.

Vicente appealed to tax payers to do their share of filing their ITRs on time and avoid the rush.

She said the bureau is drumbeating tax collection to meet its target collection for 2011 set at P1.7Billion.

TCC will assist tax payers in the computation of their tax exceptions as specified and set in the Tax code/law and other payments.

Tax payers may go to the designated TCCs from Mondays to Saturdays, 8:00 in the morning till 5:00 in the afternoon. (NBE/JPA-PIA9 Zambo City)
