5th Army artillery celebrates 5th anniversary
KORONADAL CITY, June 19 (PIA) -- The 5th Army Artillery Regiment (AAR) of the Philippine Army based in AAR Camp Lucero, Nasapian, Carmen in the province of Cotabato celebrated its 5th year of service in the said municipality last Saturday, June 16.
As part of the celebration, a tree-planting activity in the vacant area of the camp was conducted where members of the artillery and the guests joined hands in planting various tree seedlings.
Rev. Fred Palomar, DCK, the parish priest of St. John Mary in Kidapawan City led the mass in thanksgiving for the five years of excellent service of the 5th Army Artillery Regiment.
On the other hand, Regiment Commander Brigadier General Pedro Biasbas spearheaded the awarding ceremony in honor of soldiers with outstanding service.
According to Lt. Col. Emilio Pedro Jr., they are putting forward their aim of giving quality service to the people.
“We will not only continue to be of service to the people but we will also help the government in its programs,” Lt. Col. Pedro vowed.
The 5th Army Artillery Regiment upholds its aim of securing peacefulness in its assigned area, as well as in supporting one of the government’s advocacies with regards to helping fight climate change. (SJDuerme-PIA12/RBeñez)
