CdeO visual artists to showcase talents in 'Art Tsada”'exhibit
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Aug 5 (PIA) -- Budding visual artists in the city will be showcasing their talents in an art exhibition on August 13 to 31 at the City Tourism Showhouse.
Dubbed, “Art Tsada," the exhibit will feature the works of local artists who brought the city’s rich heritage and culture in canvas in recognition of the Kagay-anon cultural heritage, history, natural wonders, values and socio-cultural and economic aspirations.
The Cagayan de Oro through the City Tourism Office will host the art exhibition in celebration of the Kagay-an Festival.
It is also supported by the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) Visual Arts Committee as part of their offshoot activities in promoting local arts.
City Tourism Operations Officer Imma Rae Gatuslao said the city government is supporting this endeavor to patronize local arts and provide more opportunities to the Kagay-anon local artists to showcase their talents.
Participating artists, includes, Bo Daclan (contemporary arts), Gieward Hullagno (water color painting), Brixrey Guegue (soil painting), Darryl Salcedo (papercut art), and Marigold Cherie Ramos-Garrido (oil/acrylic painting).
An on-the-spot painting demonstration and art workshop will also be shared by the artists during the fiesta celebration.
The said art workshop will help Sendong survivors’ children to help them recover psychologically and socially from the trauma and psychological distress. (APB- PIA 10)
