OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, June 25 (PIA) -- More than 300 documented aliens have been monitored to be presently in Misamis Occidental, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) based in the city said.

Acting Alien Control Officer (AACO) Manuelito Kaamiño of BI-Ozamiz City said these include those who come from the US, Germany, Norway, China, and Korea.

He said their office has continuously been monitoring these foreigners since their visas as tourists had already expired. They are also under observation if they have permanent residency like for those who had married Filipinas.

Kaamiňo, however, said no such problem as over-staying or undocumented aliens have been encountered by the bureau since his assumption as the AACO.

In spite of the foregoing, he said the BI still continues to require foreign visitors to submit the needed papers especially those who want to visit any of the places in Misamis Occidental.

“We really make these foreigners understand that they really have to submit the required documents to avoid inconvenience on their part and to facilitate the extension of their stay or renewal of their visas, if they do decide to stay longer than schedule,” the AACO said.

During these instances, all that the foreigners have to do is visit the BI office located at the 3rd Floor, Ortega Bldg., corner Rizal Avenue and Valconcha Street, Ozamiz City, Kaamiňo added. (PIO/PIA10, Mis. Occ.)
