TAGOLOAN, Misamis Oriental, July 14 (PIA) -– Customs procedures, including electronic procedures for e2m Phase 4 topped the agenda of today’s orientation held at the Phividec Industrial Authority (PIA) Auditorium, here.
“It has been observed that several port users, particularly shippers and consignees, including their representatives, are not familiar with the proper customs procedures at the Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT), Atty Ernelito G. Aquino, Officer-in-Charge of MCT- SP said.
Thus, a one-day “Orientation on Customs
Procedures at MCT and Import/Export Procedures through ‘e2m’ have been scheduled on July 14, 2011, for all forwarders and shippers’ representatives, Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Industries (CCBI), Cagayan de Oro Chapter and all others concerned, Aquino said.
Meanwhile, the Implementation of the Rollout of the e2m Phase 4 Customs System was undertaken by the Bureau of Customs in response to requests from various stakeholders in the export industry.
In his Memorandum to all District and Deputy Collectors dated January 10, 2011, Bureau of Customs Deputy Commissioner Alexander M. Arevalo issued and amendment to an earlier Memorandum dated Jan. 6, 2011 saying:“This is to serve notice to all concerned that the following are the new and complete schedules of implementation of the rollout of the e2m Phase 4 Customs System covering all ports of Informal Entry System (IES), Transshipment System (TS), Automated Export Documentation system (AEDS) and Automated Bonds Management System (ABMS):
Batch 1 – IES/TS – Manila International Container Port (MICT), Port of Manila, Port of Batangas – Jan. 24 to February 4, 2011.
Batch 2A – IES/TS – Subic/Clark, San Fernando, Limay, Legaspi, Feb. 14-25, 2011.
Batch 2B – AEDS/ABMS – MICT, Port of Manila, Port of Batangas, Feb. 28 to March 11, 2011.
Batch 3A – AEDS/ABMS – Subic/Clark, San Fernando, Limay, Legaspi, March 21 to April 1, 2011.
Batch 3B – IES/TS/AEDS/ABMS – Cebu, Mactan, Davao, Cagayan de Oro/MCT, Iloilo, April 4-5, 2011.
Batch 4 - IES/TS/AEDS/ABMS - Tacloban, Zamboanga, Surigao, Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA)– April 18-29, 2011. (MCT/PIA-10)
