PNP WANTS GUN-LICENSE PROCESS RESTORED

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, February 22 (PIA)— The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bohol suspended fire-arms license renewals in the province for Cebu processing over allegations of irregularity in exacting “payments” from license holders.
Over the hassle of gun-owners having to renew their licenses in Cebu, PNP officials hope that fire-arms licensing can be restored in Bohol.
According to Bohol Police Senior Superintendent Constantino Barot, the PNP gathered complaints that Camp Dagohoy application and renewals personnel “demand” additional amounts from gun-owners to facilitate their transactions.
