New pasalubong village opens

BOAC, Marinduque, April 6 (PIA) -- The New Pasalubong Village is now open at the Marinduque Expo area.

According to Gov. Carmencita Reyes and Dindo Asuncion, Provincial Tourism Officer, the pasalubong center is not only intended for the local and foreign tourists during the Holy week, but also for tourists who visit the province anytime of the year

Available in the established permanent pasalubong village are original products from Marinduque like buntal bags, table runners, curtains and food products like bagoong, fish sauce, coco jam, arrowroot cookies and more.

Also showcased in the center are the different tourist spots in Marinduque that the tourism office promotes. Information materials are available on website through the help of Free Wifi access through PLDT and Smart for two months.

Marinduque State College(MSC) had set up a cottage where good massage or what natives call “Hilot”. This is a previous project of Gov. Reyes with MSC President where trainings on hilot were undertaken..

Gov. Reyes and Asuncion believed that the pasalubong village must be maintained all year round to add income to the local business entrepreneurs of the province and to help visitors get souvenirs in a one-stop village. This will also encourage other tourists to come and see more of the province and its products.

Present during the opening of the pasalubong center are Gov. Carmencita O. Reyes, Human Resource Officer, Erma Reyes, Prov’l PNP Director, Col. De Sagun, and Provincial Agriculturist, Norma Arevalo. (Mayda Lagran,-PIA)
