Bacoor expresses gratitude to AFP reservists’ volunteers
CITY OF BACOOR, Cavite, Aug 31 (PIA) -- Ninety-seven Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reservists received identification cards for their dedication and services to the affected families during the relief and rescue operation in the city.
The distribution of IDs was held at the Transport Battalion in Barangay Molino 4.
Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO) head Richard Quion said the reservists undergo continuous training on disaster management and enhancement of skills.
Mayor Strike Revilla who is the chairman of the Bacoor DRRMC said these volunteers provided assistance and support during the city government’s rescue and relief operations at the height of typhoon Gener and the southwest monsoon that affected not only Cavite but Metro Manila and nearby provinces as well.
Maj. Antonio Barroga of the Philippine Army 404 Transport Battalion thanked the city government and said his group will always assist the people in times of calamity and other disasters.
Meanwhile, Mayor Revilla welcomed local officials of the municipality of Kanaga-Leyte province headed by Mayor Elmer Codilla who visited Bacoor yesterday as part of their development field study.
The delegation toured the city’s Strike halfway house in Barangay Molino 2 which is the home of abandoned and rescued minors, the eco-park in Barangay Molino 5, the city's Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Barangay Molino 3 and the tahong port/terminal in Barangay Sineguelasan.
Codilla was joined by 83 local and barangay officials, including Municipal Councilor Jose Recta, Association of Barangay Captain President Preciosa Baguio and Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Anabelle Caneja. (CPG/RBF-PIA 4a, Cavite/Bacoor PIO)
