Southern Tarlac to experience ten-hour power interruption
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, June 4 (PIA) -- The Southern part of the Tarlac province will be experiencing a ten-hour power interruption on Thursday, June 7.
According to Regional Corporate Communication and Public Affairs Officer for North Luzon of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Lilibeth Gaydowen, “The power interruption will be from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and the affected distribution utility (DU) is the Tarlac Electric Cooperative I (TARELCO I).”
Moreover, she explained that the NGCP will carry out repairs during this period. This include replacement of wood poles and cross-arms along Concepcion-Tarleco I 69kV transmission line simultaneous with corrective maintenance and replacement of current transformers at Concepcion Substation.
Gaydowen added that “normal operations will immediately resume after work completion. NGCP’s customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption.”
Specific cities and municipalities to be affected by the power interruption are determined by the abovementioned Distribution Utility (DU), unless the activity affects the entire franchise area.
The DU allots the available power within its franchise area and implements the power interruption schedule among the end-users. (CLJD/JGB-PIA3)
