SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela, May 30 (PIA) -- The city engineering office has reported that the three-storey city-owned arcade building worth P70 million is now nearing completion.

Engineer Benedict Panganiban, city engineer of Santiago, said that once the finishing touches will be completed by end of this year and will then be ready for occupancy.

The city government has decided to fund the construction of the building so that displaced vendors at the new public market will be accommodated and be put in place inside the public market.

Earlier, the first arcade building was constructed at the new public market for the first batch of displaced vendors.

Panganiban said the city government is determined to put all vendors inside the public market to do business freely and orderly through establishing arcades.

He said the rentals for each stalls inside the arcade will be determined by the city council and once approved the city government will be collecting such rentals in favor of the city government at a minimal cost. (TCB/ME-PIA2 Isabela)
