PCG Chief Vice Admiral Edmund Tan said the admission test will be held simultaneously in the six Coast Guard Districts nationwide, a release from the agency said.
“With the PCG’s current recruitment budget for calendar year 2012, the agency is slated to enlist at least 400 personnel to augment its present personnel strength,” Tan said.
He added that the development will enable the agency fill its personnel requirements that will further enhance coast guard’s mandated task.
The six Coast Guard Districts that will serve as testing centers for applicants are: Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLZ) in La Union; Coast Guard District Bicol (CGDBCL) in Legazpi; Coast Guard District Central Visayas (CGDCV) in Cebu; Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV) in Iloilo; Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) in Davao City; and Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao (CGDNM) in Cagayan de Oro.
To qualify for the entrance test, applicants must be a natural born citizen, single, with good moral character, at least 5’4” in height for male and 5’2’’ for female, 18-26 years old, has obtained at least 72 units in college and with skills relevant to PCG ‘functions, and for TESDA certified course with two-year vocational courses.
Initial documentary requirements include NSO certified birth certificate, transcript of records, diploma and two (2) 2x2 pictures.
All interested applicants are advised to coordinate with PCG HRD office at (02) 527-8481 local 6112 or 6113 or at the nearest designated testing centers
Meanwhile, applicants who will pass the entrance examination will be called to undergo the physical, medical and psychological exam prior admission to undergo training and have the opportunity to serve the country. (PCG/RJB/JEG-PIA-NCR)
