DSWD released P1.7-M to Kalinga "Pantawid" beneficiaries

TABUK CITY, Kalinga, Mar. 14(PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera(DSWD-CAR) recently released a total of P1,766,100 cash benefits to 671 beneficiary-families  here  under its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

 
Sheryl Mayapit of  DSWD provincial field office said the beneficiaries belong to Set 1 comprised  of the municipalities of Tanudan, Pasil, Lubuagan and Tinglayan and Set 4 comprised of the municipalities of Pinukpuk and Balbalan.
 
 
The number of recipient-families and their distribution are Set 1: Pasil – 30 families – P142,500; Lubuagan – 14 families – P53,800; Tanudan – 14 families – P67,400; Tinglayan – 120 families – P571,300 and Set 4: Balbalan – 81 families – P113,100 and Pinukpuk  – 412 families – P818,00.
 
 
Prescilla Mendoza of the same office said the releases are intended for the months of July, August, November and December 2011 while benefits for September and October were released on time last year.
 
 
Under the 4Ps, grantees receive monthly conditional cash aids of P500 to mothers and P300 per child,  up to  three  children per recipient-family.  Mothers should also  have regular health and maternal check-ups with rural health units and attend family development sessions.
 
 
Qualified children should maintain a class attendance of not less than 85% of the number of school days and should undergo other programs of DSWD on de-worming, operation timbang and feeding.    
 
 
The conditions imposed on grantees under the 4Ps assure that recipient families are covered with the other social programs of government, Mendoza explained.(JDP/LL-PIA CAR,Kalinga)
