PNoy: Challenge now is to sustain reforms

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, June 25(PIA)-- President Benigno S. Aquino III said that the challenge now is to sustain the reforms started by his administration and to make these reforms permanent.

We are not here to brag, we are here to ensure that our platforms are firm and stable, the President said in his message during the oath taking of new members of Liberal Party(LP) in the Cordillera region at the Benguet State University gymnasium this morning.

The President cited the accomplishments of his administration and reforms started which he said should be sustained and made permanent beyond 2016. Thus, the need to strengthen the platform of government to ensure that there will be dedicated people to pursue the cause.

About 400 officials from the provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, and Baguio City took their oath as new members of LP-CAR before Department of Transportation and Communication Secretary Mar Roxas, the LP president, and witnessed by the President, who is the LP chairman.

The President stressed to the new members that they are strengthening the LP to be in the forefront of sustaining the reforms that have been started by the present leadership. These reforms should not only be temporary, but should be permanent that go beyond 2016 even when he steps down.

The event was also attended by Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo, Deputy House Speaker Lorenzo Erin Tanada III, and LP officials in the region led by Ifugao Congressman Teddy Baguilat Jr. (PIA CAR)
