SIQUIJOR, May 21 (PIA) -- Elections in Siquijor province was generally peaceful according to police officials here.
Primitivo J. Tabujara Jr., provincial police senior superintendent, said there were no reports of election-related violent incidents before and during the election day.
He said security operations and deployment of personnel did not end until a directive from the Commission on Elections is received.
He attributed the province’s peaceful situation to the team efforts of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army that composed the Quick Reaction Team.
