REGION I ADVANCES TO 9TH PLACE IN PALARONG PAMBANSA 2012 FINALS

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, May 16 (PIA) -- The Region I Athletic Association (R1AA) advanced three notches higher in this year’s Palarong Pambansa from its number 12 ranking in 2011. The Region I team hauled in seven golds, 11 silvers, and 16 bronze medals with a general championship points of 97.01 to clinch the number nine spot in the over-all tally. At least 300 athletes from the Ilocos Region displayed their sporting skills in the biggest sporting event held from May 6-12 in Pangasinan .
