KALILANGAN FESTIVAL 2013 CELEBRATES CULTURAL CONVERGENCE OF GENSAN’S TRI-PEOPLE

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Feb. 15 (PIA) -- The country’s Tuna Capital is celebrating this month a unique festivity that brings together in harmony the rich heritage and vibrant culture of the city’s tri-people.
This year’s Kalilangan Festival is a showcase of the cultural abundance out of the mutual respect nurtured for many years by the Indigenous Peoples (IPs), Muslims and the Christian populations who lived in the area.
“Because we are united, we want to highlight the peaceful coexistence of our tri-people, despite differences in culture, that makes Gensan successful,” said Festival Director Dr. Mary Lynn Abiera.
