FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS UP TO A STRONG START THIS YEAR--BSP

MANILA, April 15 (PIA) -- Foreign direct investments (FDIs) posted net inflows amounting to $766 million during the start of this year, almost four times higher than the year-ago level of $214 million, a statement posted on the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said.
The BSP said that this was achieved as a result of net equity capital inflows which stood at $739 million during January 2012 from only $31 million in January 2011.
