DUMAGUETE CITY, June 11 (PIA) -- Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and the Corporate Network for Disaster Response (CNDR) have conducted a training for community residents of Barangay Candau-ay in Dumaguete City to prepare them against flooding amid the onset of the rainy season.
Barangay Candau-ay, a flood-prone community with about 6,400 residents was the hardest hit when Typhoon Sendong struck in December 2011.
Community residents were trained on early warning and flood evacuation drill while it was Smart Communication’s second time to handle the training for Candau-ay.
