ILOILO CITY, May 30 (PIA) -- The Department of Agriculture is targeting to build 18 more small rice processing complexes (RPC) in Western Visayas this year. DA-6 Regional Director Larry Nacionales said that Region 6 has vast areas of land devoted to rice production so it is necessary for additional RPCs to be put up to help farmers minimize post-harvest losses. Nacionales said that at present, the region’s biggest RPC situated in Pototan serves as a one-stop-shop service facility, serving farmers from production to postharvest, warehousing and marketing.
