The Cagayan River suspension bridge, the first of its kind in Asia, is now undergoing much needed re-strengthening work after more than 30 years of service to the people of Cagayan Valley, the Ilocos, and Cordillera Autonomous Region. The retrofitting and rehabilitation plan finally saw light June 10 this year. Director Tamayo of the Department of Public Works and Highways acknowledged that the Magapit suspension Bridge can be considered as an architectural legacy, an engineering feat for the river people of Cagayan province. Expert allays fears on dredging
