SAN JOSE, Antique, Feb. 1 (PIA6) --The Social Security  System (SSS) has extended the deadline for mailing of SSS contributions by OFWs.

In line with this, OFW members have been advised to update their contribution and other records with the SSS. “If the records are in order, a member can immediately get his pension fifteen days after retiring,” said Joy Villacorta, SSS management department head .

The record of contributions can be viewed at the nearest SSS office in their place of assignment or by logging in at their website www.sss.gov.ph.

There will be a draw every month from January to June for the Social Security System Member-Get-Member Promotions where nine members may win P10,000. The grand draw will be held on the September 7, 2012. Prizes include a round trip travel package from home country to Karachi, a trip to Boracay for two with accommodation and P45,000 pocket money.

Villacorta said OFWs who want to join the promotion of the SSS can get application forms at any SSS branch in their country of employment or you may download it at the SSS website.

Villacorta further said that members who have problems with their debts with the agency will have an opportunity to pay them with the launching of the "condonation program" of the SSS from April 2 to September 30 this year. (JSC/MLG-PIA6 Antique)
