GSIS sets CSP application deadline June 30
ILOILO City, June 21 (PIA) -- Government workers may nominate their children for the enhanced College Scholarship Program (CSP) of the Government Service Insurance Service (GSIS). Deadline for the application is set on June 30,
GSIS Iloilo Branch Manager Eleanor D. Gregorio said 200 slots are available for the enhanced CSP nationwide for this school year, 14 of which are intended for Region 6.
The GSIS has revised its scholarship program to ensure that low-income members will be given the opportunity to send their children to colleges and universities. This effort was undertaken as part of its 75th anniversary celebration.
Unlike past scholarship programs, the selection of scholars will no longer be done through an electronic raffle. Instead, the GSIS will accept scholarship nominees from members or parents with a salary grade of 24 or below, or its equivalent.
The nominee of parents with the lowest salary grades will be given priority.
Scholars will be entitled to the actual cost of tuition and miscellaneous fees not exceeding P20,000 and a monthly stipend of P2,000. Scholarship recipients may also opt to take a four- or five-year course provided they meet the scholastic requirements set by the school for its student retention under the program.
Application forms are available at any GSIS Office or may be downloaded from the GSIS website at www.gsis.gov.ph and duly accomplished application form, with other required documents, may be submitted to the nearest GSIS Office for processing. (GSIS/EJB/JCM-PIA 6)
