BAGUIO CITY, April 30 (PIA) -- Civic groups have been tasked to continue assisting the government agencies in Baguio, along with the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) and other law enforcement agencies, in the implementation of traffic rules and regulations and other related ordinances during the conduct of various activities.

Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan implemented this in signing the Administrative Order (AO) No. 22, issued for the city since it is a prime tourist destination in the country, and thousands of foreign and domestic visitors flock to the Summer Capital.

"The different civic groups assistance is a big help to police in assisting our guests so that they can enjoy and make sure is a hassle free stay in the city," said Domogan.

The civic organizations have signified their intention to support the local police force to render traffic assistance, first aid, crime watch, and other daily activities that will help in addressing problems to be encountered during the influx of people.

There are at least 25 organized civic volunteers who are actively assisting the city government in the conduct of major activities such as the Baguio Flower Festival, Summer Vacation, and Christmas in Baguio among others.

"There is a need to authorize the volunteer groups to help the government in catering to the needs of our constituents and visitors," Domogan explained. (JBZ PIA-CAR)
