Palawan exhibitors participate in national expo
PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, Sept 4 (PIA) -- Four exhibitors from Palawan will participate in the upcoming One Town, One Product (OTOP) National Expo on September 19 to 23 at the Megatrade Hall of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
The four participants include Taytay, Palawentas Handicrafts owned by Dindo Dacasin, Provincial Economic Enterprise Development Office (Peedo), and Exotic Delicacies of Palawan by Anna So from Brooke’s Point.
OTOP products to be promoted are marine products by Exotic Delicacies of Palawan and by Taytay, which will showcase products by MS Balirete Enterprises.
Peedo will showcase the many OTOP food products of the different municipalities like cashew, banana, and coconut. Palawentas Handicrafts will exhibit mostly unique wood carvings made by the different indigenous groups, lamps, and wind chimes.
Every year, the Department of Trade and Industry brings together for a grand showcase of unique Philippine-made products of the 17 regions and 80 provinces of the country through the OTOP National Expo.
The expo aims to highlight public awareness and appreciation of the OTOP, highlighting the best of every town.
Exhibitors also sell their products.
OTOP is a national government program which aims to promote economic development in the countryside through entrepreneurship and job creation.
It promotes the best product and service associated with a locality and in the process allows the optimal utilization of abundant local resources and labor. (LBR/VSM-PIA 4B, Palawan)
