Palawan graduates among top 10 new mining engineers
PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan, Aug. 20 (PIA) -- Three graduates of the Palawan State University made it to the top 10 of the Mining Engineer Licensure Examination held August 14-16 in Manila.
The three PSU graduates are Haiza Sapal Pigkaulan, third place; Carlo Dusong Javarez, fourth place; and Jamil Gesulga Matanog in tenth place. The rest of the top 10 positions are graduates of the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
Of the 15 PSU graduates who took the examination, 14 passed with PSU getting a passing rate of 93.33 percent. They are the first batch of Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering of the PSU.
There were 57 out of 67 who passed the examination coming from five schools – University of the Philippines-Diliman, Palawan State University, Cebu Institute of Technology, Adamson University, and Mapua Institute of Technology.
The other PSU graduates who passed the examination are Hatran Sariol Bairulla, Al-Benrasher Sappali Anggi, Musarapa Timpolok Insiang, Jaypee Debandina Juanerio, Samer Lumansag Makalilay, Marjorie de Lima Marcaida, Jean Carleen Margery Mendoza, Muslimin Zumakel Paglala, Cread Cristobal Rodriguez, Naser Lumambas Silongan, and Johary Salibo Unggel.
The number of examination takers was the biggest yet in the history of the Mining Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Board of Mining Engineering. (LBR/VSM-PIA4B, Palawan)
