Cavite town celebrates 53rd Gawad Parangal

GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite, June 8 (PIA) -- Local executives of this premier town salute 544 honor students who finished their elementary, high school, and college education during the 53rd Gawad Parangal held at the General Trias Cultural and Convention Center last month.

The Gawad Parangal is a yearly undertaking of the local government which aims to give recognition to Gentriseños in the field of education.

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Deputy Director General Attorney Teodoro C. Pascua, representing TESDA Director General Emmanuel Joel J. Villanueva was the guest of honor and speaker.

In his message, Atty. Pascua encouraged and challenged the 544 honor students and graduates to prove their worth to achieve their ultimate goal in life which is to finish their respective courses in college and be responsible members of the community. He also urged them to continue to study hard so they can be successful in their respective fields.

During the program, former mayor Teofilo Grepo was honored for his contributions on the said project and he was given the title of “Ama ng Parangal.” A copy of Resolution No. 2012-08 (Gawad Grepo) which give recognition to board passers were accepted by Araceli Grepo.(CPG/RF-PIA-Cavite/General Trias PIO)
