Peace & order situation discussed at POC meeting

SANTA CRUZ, Laguna, July 2 (PIA) -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) updated the Provincial Peace and Order Office (PPOO) on June 27 on current activities and accomplishments regarding anti-criminality and peace and order in the province while the Philippine Army 1st Infantry Brigade (IB briefed the Office on insurgency.

Other matters tackled included disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) and solid waste management.

The Department of Labor Employment (DOLE IV-A) also presented the creation of the Provincial Anti-illegal Recruitment Committee and Provincial Anti-Child Labor Committee at the meeting and recent issuances by DILG.

Leonardo M. Ragaza, lawyer and provincial administrator, stated that Laguna has some 6,000 trained rescue volunteers ready to be dispatched in times of disasters and calamities while DILG Provincial Director Lionel L. Dalope Dalope said the province is not only theoretically prepared in DRRM but materially equipped (ACO-PIA 4A, Laguna/PIO-Laguna)
