DFA unveils Calabarzon’s first consular office in a mall
LIPA CITY, Batangas, Oct. 2 (PIA) --The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has opened to the public last September 27, a consular office touted to be the first in Calabarzon inside a shopping mall.
DFA’s Lipa consular office is located at Robinson’s Mall Lingkod Pinoy Center.
Glenn Corpin, officer-in-charge of DFA-Lipa said the consular office is an important flagship public service program of Robinson’s Mall aims to hasten the linkage between the different government agencies and the citizenry.
Said consular office is capable of accepting 200 to 300 passport applicants daily while the passport processing last from 13-15 minutes.
The consular office will process and release passports from Monday to Saturday during mall operating hours from 10 am to 8 pm while it will only release passports during Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm.
Atty. Virgilio Macasaet Jr. chief of staff of the office of the city mayor expressed the city government’s support to the consular office. He urged other government agencies to also open offices in their city. (CPG, PIA4A with report from PIA-Batangas)
