Bulacan, Subic continue CL football dominance

SUBIC BAY, Zambales, June 21 (PIA) -- Bulacan's Futbulakenyos and Subic Bay’s Lighthouse Amihan FC continue their winning run in the Central Luzon Football League, with league leader Futbulakenyos keeping their slate unblemished, defeating Tarlac FC, 3-1.

The Lighthouse Amihan FC (LAFC), meanwhile, continued to burn the net, scoring 10 goals against Pampanga FC's single.

LAFC versus PFC scoreline is the leagues' single biggest winning margin and the most number of goals of a team this season.

The games were held June 17th, 2012 with Tarlac FC hosting Bulacan at the Tarlac Sports Complex and the LAFC Batang 'Gapo welcomed PFC at the beautiful Brent International School pitch in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

The return leg of the Tarlac-Bulacan match up was a closely fought contest.

Tarlac FC coach Christian de Ocampo said that their plan to plug the hole in their midfield worked.

"We (realized) from the previous game (against Bulacan) that our midfield was always open to attack. Unfortunately, Futbulakenyos scored from two freekicks, all from outside the penalty box," De Ocampo said.

For the Futbulkenyos, this was the toughest match in the league.

"I told the team to stay in focused, just enjoy the game and prove our superiority in CLFL. I guess that statement (boosted) our team morale," Robles said after the game.

At Brent International School-Subic, the game was decided early after the LAFC scored 3 quick goals with a first half scoreline of 5-1.
Led by Batang 'Gapo midfield Emil Pellezer's brilliant 5-goal game, the LAFC controlled the midfield by punching through Pampanga's wings at will.

"Our ball control has improved a lot. And this meant we had more possession, thus, more attacks. We've found the right combination and everyone played very well," John Bayarong, LAFC coach said.

Batang 'Gapo midfielder Federico Fariñas scored a hat trick while Jasper Murillo and Geroge Erlano scored a goal each.

A Pampanga FC striker fired a screaming free kick just outside the penalty box midway into the first half to scoring their only goal of the match.

Match day 5 on July 1 is expected to be a blockbuster event with the league leaders squaring off at the Remy Field, Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

"A Bulacan loss pushes Batang 'Gapo to the top spot by way of goal difference. When that happens, the Sinukuan is up for grabs," David Bayarong, LAFC manager said, adding that "this is why we are urging our supporters in Olongapo City and Subic Bay to fill up the Remy Field bleachers and cheer for the Batang 'Gapo."

Sinukuan is the league's perpetual throphy and was named after a mythical goddess of bountry in Mt. Arayat.(CLJD/AMV-PIA3)
