CSC-3 still accepts applications for the 2nd Career Service Paper and Pencil tests of 2012

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, July 23 (PIA) -- The Civil Service Commission (CSC) - 3 continues to accept applications for the second Career Service Professional and Subprofessional Paper and Pencil Tests for October 21.

“Exams are open to all Filipino citizens aged 18 years old and above who are of good moral character, have neither been found guilty to an offense involving moral turpitude nor have been dishonorably dismissed from any civilian position in government and have not taken the same level of CSC examination in less than three months,” CSC Central Luzon information officer Diana Henson said.

She also said graduates with honors and passers of bar exams and Professional Regulation Commission-administered tests need not apply as they are automatically eligible.

The examinations will consist of the following subject areas: 1) For professional (in English and Filipino) – vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic, and numerical reasoning and; 2) For sub-professional (in English and Filipino) - vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, spelling, clerical operations, and numerical reasoning.

There will also be a general information test for both professional and sub-professional levels which covers the following areas: 1) Philippine Constitution, 2) The Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A.6713), 3) Peace and Human Rights Issues and Concepts, and 4) Environment Management and Protection.

Exams will be conducted simultaneously in over 30 venues in the country including the cities of San Fernando in Pampanga Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija, and Baler town in Aurora.

An applicant must obtain a passing grade of at least 80 percent to earn eligibility that is the key for a stable job in government.
