DBM regional chief elected president of CL state directors group

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, July 16 (PIA) -- The regional chief of DBM has been elected as the new president of Central Luzon Association of Regional Officers (Claro).

DBM Regional Director Elisa Salon will serve the unexpired two-year term of Remigio Mercado of National Economic Development Authority, who was transferred to Mimaropa.

Salon, who was previously the group’s treasurer, will serve until April 30,2012 along with Andrew Villacorta of Department of Agriculture as First Vice President, Feliciano Rosete of Ramon Magsaysay Technological University as Second Vice President, Karin Litz Zerna of Civil Service Commission as Secretary, Adelina Apostol of Department of Social Welfare and Development as Assistant Secretary, Delfin Magpantay of Bataan Peninsula State University as Treasurer, Blesila Lantayona of Department of Trade and Industry as Assistant Treasurer, Eduardo Ocampo of Bureau of Treasury as Auditor, Oliver Macaspac of Land Transportation Office as Public Relations Officer, and Teofilo Inocencio of Department of Agrarian Reform, Jesus Vitug of Land Transportation Office, Teodoro Gatchalian of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Ricardo Diaz of National Bureau of Investigation and Remedios Ongtangco of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources as Board of Directors.

Salon said in an interview, “I am deeply honored to head the association of the chiefs, assistant chiefs and presidents of national government agencies, government owned and controlled corporations and state colleges and universities of perhaps the most progressive region in the archipelago after Metro Manila.”

Salon laid out plans to strengthen the frontline services of the member-agencies by having customer assistance desks in all its offices from regional down to provincial as well as have a regular clean up drives in the regional government center in Barangay Maimpis in San Fernando City, Pampanga to prevent the spread of dengue and other diseases.

The regional DBM chief also rooted for “a unified Christmas party for employees of member-agencies as we, at some point, collaborate in our jobs for we are under one employer- the national government serving the same client- the Filipino people.” (WLB/CLJD-PIA3))
