Tarlac's weeklong founding anniversary highlights a beauty contest and more

TARLAC CITY, May 19 (PIA) -- A total of 13 ladies will be vying for the 2011 Mutya ng Lalawigan crown.

 

Jojo Pascual of the Provincial Media Affairs Office said this year’s contenders are Jackelyn Astrero of Anao, Luisa David of Bamban, Crystal Gail de Jesus of Camiling, Jaramaine Castro of Capas, Michelle Nina dela Cruz of Concepcion, Jharriday Joy Magday of Gerona, Ria Enriquez of La Paz, Verneth Denise Caralipio of Moncada, Rowena Pablo of Ramos, Kimberly Ong of San Clemente, Nichole Tablatin of San Manuel, Escel Khaye Nicolas of Sta. Ignacia, and Elaine Tong of Tarlac City.

 

Pascual added that the coronation night is scheduled on May 26 at the Maria Christina Park where tons of prizes await the winner.In addition, she will be representing the province in the upcoming Mutya ng Pilipinas contest.

 

“Mutya ng Lalawigan” is part of the week-long festivities for Tarlac’s 138th founding anniversary celebration.

 

Other activities include a trade fair (May 23-27, Rotary lane), local band concert (May 23, Maria Christina park), dog show (May 23, Maria Christina Park), Football exhibition with Phil and James Younghusband (May 24, Tarlac Recreation Park), job fair (May 24, Metrotown mall), free legal consultation (May 24, Bulwagan ng mga Gobernador), Go Negosyo franchise fair (May 25-26, Tarlac Events Place), Medical-Dental mission (May 25-26, St. Michael’s Park-NOLCOM), Galing ng Tarlaqueño talent contests (May 25, Maria Christina park), fun run (May 27, capitol grounds), variety show (May 27, Maria Christina park) and mobile passporting (May 28, Metrotown mall).
