SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, June 5 (PIA) -- Around 300 youth leaders from Pampanga recently attended the five-day summer youth camp organized by the San Fernando City government.

Mayor Oscar Rodriguez said, “The activity aims to discuss topics on good governance practices, self-esteem enhancement and the importance of Kapampangan culture and the arts. Moreover, the camp is actually to guide the youth on the journey of involvement and change.”

Discussing about the youth’s role in nation building, the mayor reminded them that “it is never a fruitless exercise to be concerned and to get involved in one’s community. This is an obligation wherein you can attain self-fulfillment. This is part of the act wherein we are imparting ourselves to the development of the future.”

Furthermore, the camp intends to develop the sense of leadership to the youth where he noted that through “leadership is where you can influence a community to follow your vision and leadership is shown when you can influence a community in addressing its problems.”

The Luid Capampangan Summer Youth Camp was organized by a youth-based organization, Teatrico Fernandino that intends to sustain interest and growth of Kapampangan Culture and Arts. (CLJD/JGB-PIA3)
