DOH-3 offers stress management seminars

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga, June 3 (PIA) -- The Department of Health-Center for Health Development Region 3 (DOH-CHD3) now offers free services for people who have to cope with “stress,” recognizing its ill-effects in the health and productivity of persons.

The DOH-CHD3 offers seminars on stress management to groups and organizations where participants will get to know the mechanism of physical stress response. The 12 “S” Iwas Stress and Diet and Stress are other topics that are discussed in such seminars.

This seminar will provide the participants with skills to manage work-related stress which will lead to improved performance and increased productivity.

There will also be demonstrations on how to perform breathing exercises, stretching techniques, massage techniques, “hataw,” “shawn kung,” “qigong shibashi,” mediation and discharge emotions. The participants will be required to execute these exercises after the demonstrations.

Stress is any pressure that we encounter in our daily lives that can disrupt the functions of our body and mind. Everyone in the workplace is continuously exposed to stress. Stressors can be personal, occupational or organizational.

They affect the workers' productivity. If left unresolved, stress will lead to poor output and inefficiency.
