SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya, Aug 2 (PIA) -- A regional executive of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has praised the local government unit (LGU)-run hospital for its development initiatives and improvements.

Oscar Abadu, PhilHealth regional vice president said the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital (NVPH) located in Barangay Almaguer North here has been a model PhilHealth facility because of its good dynamism and rapport with the people, particularly its management of PhilHealth payments and continuing establishment of its other services.

“The establishment of putting up a PhilHealth building and pharmacy has again attracted a wave of patients needing PhilHealth care, services and benefits,” Abadu said.

He also said that the NVPH is trying to improve its procurement system in order to provide a complete line of medicines available inside the pharmacy where patients can easily avail anytime of the day.

Abadu said the NVPH’s improving line of medical services is part of the synchronized effort of LGU-run hospitals in coping up with the requirements of PhilHealth and the latter’s continuing expansion of its insurance programs.

Such partnership, he said, is anchored on the Universal Health Care Program that seeks to implement a “no balance billing policy” among patients in public hospitals.

It seeks to provide every Filipino the highest possible quality of health care that is accessible, efficient, equitably distributed, adequately funded, fairly financed and appropriately used by an informed and empowered public. (BME-PIA 2, Nueva Vizcaya)
