ECC for Ilagan-Divilacan road project now approved
ILAGAN, Isabela, July 27 (PIA) -- Governor Faustino G. Dy III said yesterday that the environmental compliance certificate (ECC) for the Ilagan-Divilacan road project had been released by the Environment Management Bureau (EMB).
Dy made the announcement at the municipal hall of Ilagan during yesterday’s official kick-off campaign for a plebiscite for the cityhood of Ilagan on August 11.
He said the ECC is one of the requirements in opening the road going to the coastal towns of Isabela.
The four coastal towns at the eastern portion of Isabela are Maconacon, Divilacan, Palanan, and Dinapigue, which are considered isolated from the mainland province due to absence of road network in reaching the place.
The provincial government is aiming to open a road from Ilagan to Divilacan, having almost secured and complied the requirements to realize the province’s priority project.
Governor Dy said a road to the coastal towns is necessary so that residents will have access to the services from the provincial government.
This will also give opportunity to attract investors on ecotourism business, as the place has potential good beach resorts.
The four coastal towns at present can only be reached by air and sea transportation. (PIA 2, Isabela)
