Santiaguneos urged to join local officials in journeying a straight path of governance

SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela, June 14 (PIA) -– Local officials in this premier city of Cagayan Valley urged Santiaguenos to join them in journeying the straight path of governance to attain real progress.

Mayor Amelita Navarro made the call during the 114th anniversary of Philippine Independence yesterday at the city hall grounds attended by employees of the city, national government agencies and non-government organizations.

Navarro cited the development efforts the city officials has initiated and implemented in the last several years of leading the city to include the programs on education, health, agriculture, livelihood and many other programs which the residents have been benefitted.

“Sama-sama tayong tumahak sa matuwid na daan tungo sa tunay na pag-unlad (Let’s walk the straight path towards real development together),” Navarro said.

Navarro also led the simultaneous raising of the Philippine Flag in front of the city hall and she was joined by some city officials and the police.

She also led a wreath-laying to the monument of national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal inside the city hall compound as a show of honor and value for the great contribution of Rizal in freeing the country from the conquerors.

Aside from Rizal monument, city elected officials also simultaneously led the wreath-laying to the monuments of Apolinario Mabini at barangay Mabini and Andres Bonifacio monument beside the city hall as well. (PIA- Isabela)
