RDC 2’s Ruby Anniversary celeb focuses on new paradigms of dev’t planning
TUGUEGARAO CITY, July 1 (PIA) --The Regional Development Council (RDC) 2 has lined up various activities focusing on new paradigms in development planning for the annual commemoration of its 40th founding year or “Ruby” anniversary.
The weeklong event slated on the 3rd week of September has the theme, “Development Planning and Knowledge Management: Designing for Change.”
It aims to draw interest, support and commitment from Regional Line Agencies and Local Government Units in the advocacy of plans, adoption of emerging framework planning preparation, intensified plan formulation, and achieve widespread practice of knowledge management principles in the region.
The founding anniversary celebration also aimed at inculcating knowledge management principles into the work environment of Regional Line Agencies (RLAs) and Provincial and Local Government Units.
Among the planned activities include a local planners’ convention on Philippine Development Plan Caravan including major regional plans (RDP, and Investment Program) with Socio-Economic Planning Secretary Arsenio M. Balisaca as keynote speaker.
A tree planting activity will also be conducted at the Regional Government Center.
The RDC 2 was created in 1972 and was mandated to set the direction of economic and social development of the region through which regional development efforts shall be coordinated. (TCB/Angelica Umoquit/PIA 2)
