1,000 incoming college students get scholarships from provincial government
CABARROGUIS, Quirino, June 5 (PIA) -- Around 1,000 deserving youth here received certificates of scholarship from the provincial government under the education program of Gov. Junie E. Cua, which entitle them to a P2,500 additional allowance every semester.
Each recipient was chosen based on his or her grades and the living conditions of his or her family.
The total number of recipients is on top of the number of Board of Trustees (BOT) scholars for qualified students studying at the Quirino Polytechnic College, a tertiary school funded and operated by the provincial government.
The BOT scholars enjoy free tuition fee privilege for every semester provided that that they will be able to pass all their subjects.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chief, Education Program Specialist Antonio P. Pascual, has awarded CHED scholarships to six incoming college students here who passed the qualifying examinations and screening given by the CHED.
Pascual said the six scholars are Kathryn Ann Tablizo and Mary Grace Domingo (full scholars); Jun Jordan Balajadia and Jocelle Faith Duque (half scholars); Melvin Manichala and Eric Badua (Grant-In-Aid scholars).
The full scholars will be receiving P15,000 for every semester, half scholars will be getting P7,500, and Grant-In-Aid scholars, P6,000 per semester. (TCB-PIA 2)
