Independence day jobs fair slated in Tuguegarao City
TUGUEGARAO CITY, May 24 (PIA) -- After the successful Labor Day jobs fair, which gave instant employment to 188 jobseekers, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 2 will again spearhead another regional job fair aimed at bringing together under one roof the employers and the jobseekers.
Atty. Sixto Rodriguez, DOLE 2 regional director, said the job fair will be conducted on June 12 at the Casa Angela in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan in cooperation with local government units, schools, the DOLE's tripartite partners, Public Employment Service Officers, and the private sector.
He said their office is on the process of sending invitations to overseas recruitment agencies and local employers who would want to participate in the scheduled job fair to recruit workers in their respective companies.
Rodriguez advised interested applicants to bring during the job fair their resume, identification pictures, photocopy of transcript of records and or diploma clearances and training and employment certificates.
“Overseas job applicants are advised to bring passport during the job fair,” he added.
The DOLE director likewise advised interested applicants to pre-register starting May 24, at the Cagayan field office at Caritan Centro, Tuguegarao City from Monday to Friday.
Reginald B. Estioco, DOLE 2 labor communication officer, disclosed that as of press time, several local employers, which includes Save More, a newly opened department store located at the Tuguegarao City Market, have already confirmed their participation to the jobs fair.
“We hope to surpass our accomplishment during the Labor day jobs fair wherein 43 employers took in the job fair,” Estioco said. (TCB/PIA 2)
