TUGUEGARAO CITY, May 4 (PIA) -- Over a hundred museum workers will gather in the province of Cagayan to celebrate the International Museum Day (IMD) on May 24 and 25 with the theme, “Museums in a Changing World, New Challenges and New Aspirations.”

According to Father Victor Emmanuel Quintos, Curator of the Piat Heritage Museum, the event is being observed annually by member countries of the International Council of Museums, as a reminder of the significant roles that museums play in the preservation of natural and cultural heritage of a nation.

This year’s IMD will be a two-day celebration jointly organized by the Piat Heritage Museum of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao and the Cagayan Provincial Museum and Historical Research Center.

The activities include a half-day seminar and a visit to Lyceum of Aparri Museum, Heritage Churches of Cagayan, Piat Basilica Minore including the Cagayan Museum, and the Callao Caves Tourist Zone. (TCB/FD-PIA 2)
