BAGUIO CITY, Aug. 19 (PIA) -- Twenty six police officers from the different provinces in the region finished their community immersion program at the Barangay Holy Ghost Proper in this city.

Barangay Kagawad Darwin Marcos said the community immersion program of the policemen is part of their schooling and training program which they are undertaking for them to be promoted as PNP officers.

The 26 police officers are currently undergoing schooling at the Philippine National Police – Training School at the Teachers Camp here in Baguio City.

The policemen started their immersion program with a clean up drive in the different areas of the barangay particularly the creek, canals and the street and in helping in garbage management.

During their one week stay at the barangay, they also conducted trainings for the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team. They also lectured barangay officials, tanods, purok leaders and members of the community on disaster preparedness.

On their last day on Friday, the policemen along with their superiors treated the barangay officials to a traditional boodle fight.

Their stay in the barangay is just one way of promoting the good relationship between the police to the community.(JDP/ RC- PIA CAR)
