Mild quake jolts Dagupan City
DAGUPAN CITY, June 18 (PIA) -- An intensity IV (4) magnitude earthquake jolted Pangasinan yesterday morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismoloy said the tectonic quake occurred at 6:18 a.m. with epicentre at 80 kilometers south of Candelaria, Zambales that registered an intensity VI (6) magnitude.
Intensity IV was felt in Dagupan City, Bugallon, Villasis and Bolinao in Pangasinan while intensity III registered in Pampanga, La Union, and the cities of Pasay, Taguig and Quezon.
The quake in Dagupan City gently rocked beds and chairs at home while those attending early Church services, the day being a Sunday, felt the benches rock.
No damage was reported yet.
Earthquakes as mild as an intensity four have sent Dagupeños worrying as the city was one of the epicentres of a destructive 7.6 magnitude quake in July 1990. (ANL/VHS-PIA 1 Pangasinan)
